I loved painting "Cherries on the Edge" so much, that I decided to do another, and bigger. Original watercolor size 11x14

  1. I love the rich color you get in the cherries, and the highlights you have on them. Did you mask them or paint around each one? Great job! They're making me hungry.

  2. Thanks Joan. No, I tend to never paint with masking fluid, as I like the challenge of trying to save my whites (doesn't always work!!)...so, I painted around each one, usually I draw the "whites" so I wont' paint there...

  4. thanks Ron!! I'm glad you like it....I sometimes get frustrated that reds aren't as transparent as the other colors, but in the end, I'm usually happy!!

  5. Beautiful job on these cherries. Your reds are good and rich. Interesting to see that you do not use masking fluid. Without the use of fluid you really need to plan and think ahead. Great job. Frame it and sell it!
