Having spent most of my childhood summers on the Cape Cod, and most of my life in Maine, I find great comfort in the sound of a rolling wave; no matter what my mood is, it is a mezmerizing and familiar sound. Original watercolor size 11x14.
I live on the water on the opposite side of the continent, but I face east like you do, on the inside of Vancouver Island. I like the movement and implied waves in this painting. It seems you use a quite different palette than I do, with ultramarine blue as a favourite. I find it fascinating how many different ways watercolour can be used. I also like the previous painting.
ReplyDeleteHi Ron..well, you figured out my 'formula'! Yes, I have to admit, I'm an ultramarine addict! If I don't use it alone, I tend to try to mix it with everything I have!! Thank you for the nice compliments...I'd love to visit Vancouver someday-I love Canada!
