coastal sun

WATERCOLOR size 13x9 $200

No matter what the ocean may be doing, it's almost a guarantee that the sky is doing it's own thing. I really liked this coastal scene with the sun showing behind the clouds and the many waves crashing in the bay. Size 16x9 on Fabriano paper.

  1. My hat off to you, Holly.

I wouldn't know where to begin to do "ocean". I would think it a brave and confident artist to go there.
And you managed to get a terrific Lombardo to boot.

  2. I was really hyped when I saw this coastal seen because I too am working on a water scene as we speak and I realize how difficult it can be, particularly the transition from sky to horizon and through to the foreground, can be a real challenge.
At any rate you made it look genuinely effortless.
I should post it if it is not to embarrassing by tomorrow.
BTW, I noticed you and a few other artist blogger's use Flikr as well as Blogspot, are there any advantages at exhibiting at Flikr?

  3. Beautiful job on this one, Holly! I love the sort of monochromatic treatment of the scene. I've been away at a workshop and have been trying to catch up on what I missed in the last 10 days or so.
